Double Pocket Book Mark Card Tutorial

.......

When you are finished with the tutorial you will have a card like the above picture. Above is a Picture of what the card looks like with the Book Marks in it. All 3 parts of the card when you are done decorating with Stamps and embellishments Step 1. ...... You will need 1 12" x 12" piece of Double Sided Card Stock I prefer SU! because their patterned paper is much thicker than most and more appropriate for 3-D projects and altered items. ....... You will also need some sort of scoring tool and a paper cutter I use my Score Pal and my SU! Guillotine Paper Cutter. I cut my 12"x12" piece of double sided SU! DSP down to 8 1/2" x 11" Now length wise down the paper score at the 4 1/4" mark. Fold the paper in half Now turn the paper the other way and on the short side of the paper score again at 5 1/2" down the paper. Remember to press hard down the score mark because you need to score through 2 layers of paper this time. Now open up your scored paper it will be scored half way across the paper on the length of the paper and half way across the paper on the width of the paper too. ....... On the left hand side of the paper cut on the horizontal scored line half way across the paper to the length of the paper score line Now in the bottom right corner of the paper fold the corner up to the scored line In the top left hand section of the paper fold the upper left hand corner down leaving 1 1/2" from the fold to the scored line on the length of the paper Now where you cut the paper across the scored width line fold that entire section in folding the paper in half on the scored length of the paper line.
Now fold in the bottom left section of the paper like you did the top left section of the paper you will fold over the up turned corner of the bottom right hand corner.
Now your paper is folded in half down the length of the paper again. Take what was the bottom left section of the paper and fold the corner up to the edge of the paper like you did the bottom right hand section earlier.
.......
You will then unfold the bottom right section so that you can refold it up over the now bottom left corner that is also now folded up.
Above is a picture of what your paper should look like now.
.......
Now take the double folded triangle on the bottom and fold it up over the top sections of the paper and your card will look like the picture below.
Now I personally like my Pocket cards to have more of the top pattern so you have two sections with one pattern and two sections with the other pattern so I fold down one of the triangle folds that are now down inside the first pocket.
Now you can adhere down your sides on the edges leaving the inside open to put whatever decorations into the pockets. You can see below I made two book marks on is wider than the other so you can see it behind the first once they are in the pockets.

Now you can decorate the front of your card any way that you want to and I even cut out a corner of some other patterned paper and glued it down on the fold of the all black and white patterned paper to add some color to that project!!!!!

......

I hope the pictures make this tutorial sound much clearer than mud!!! When I did it, it seemed really clear to me, but trying to put down on paper what you actually did is harder to make clear to others so that is why I took all the pictures!!!!

.......

Enjoy your Monday night and Stampendous Tuesday Everyone and if you have any questions just e-mail me at hwblondbom@aol.com!!!

.......

Heather
