Friendy Frankin Kit Kat Holders

Lots of Friendly Frankin Faces!!!

.......

Happy Halloween!
.......
I spent a long time last night making these really cute Kit Kat or small wrapped candy bar holders. My neighbor/new down line/friend found a recipe for a kit kat holder and she made them really cute with Orange CS patterned paper, and a circle stamp for closing. She is adding them to her blog Tashas Design World. I needed to change all the dimensions and score lines to make the front work as Frankies face and I totally changed the design, but I got the original idea from her recipe she found.
.......

Above are the 17 mini Frankie Kit Kat Holders and the Larger Candy bag favors I did a tutorial on early this month.

The Large Friendly Frankin Candy Favor Bag Holder.

Small Friendly Frankin Kit Kat Holder

I took this picture so you could see what size he is next to the Snail Adhesive.

.......
I wanted to take them and make them into Friendly Frankenstein Characters because I had made the larger Frankenstein Favors for all the teachers and friends et.. et... So here is my
.......
Tutorial on making the Friendly Frankin Kit Kat Holders:
.......

Here are the supplies I used to make the small Friendly Frankin.

.......

Ink Pads: Real Red, Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant,
Sponge Daubers: for edges of eyes, nose and hair for dimension,
Punches: Word Window Punch, 3/4 Circle, 1/4 Circle.
Card Stock: Basic Black, Perfect Plum, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Adhesives: Tombo liquid glue, mini glue dots, Snail Adhesive, Excess Rubber for adhesive and dimension of eyes (makes them stick out).
Stamps: Weathered Background Stamp
Basic Black Marker You are going to make 11 X 2 1/2" strips you can get 3 per 8 1/2 x 11" CS.
score it at 3 1/2", 4", 7 1/2", and 8". After you do this you will want to cut down the end the face will be on. Eye it and cut off what you want keep in mind where you want the nose to be on the face. I cut a little more than 3/4" off.

Now you can fold the score marks and get your hair piece. It is 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" scored at 1/2" on the other end of the score cut jagged hair pieces as above.

These supplies you will use for the eyes. Stamp Weathered Back Ground in Real Red on Whisper White Card Stock. Then punch out as many eyes as you need with the 3/4" punch. Take a sponge dauber and sponge the very edges of the entire eye with Old Olive ink. I tried it without the old olive and the eyes just did not look right. Then take two small pieces of excess rubber from your stamp sets. Put them on top of two glue dots leave for a moment or the glue dots are hard to pull off along with the rubber. I take my snail adhesive and run a tiny strip in the middle of the eye, then I wet my finger pick up the black 1/4" circle punched pieces with the tip of my finger and put it on the snail adhesive on the middle of the eye. Then put the rubber and glue dots on the back of the eyes. Attach to Frankies Face.

Frankie with Eyes.

Supplies to make nose. I really like the look of the Round Tab punch for the nose on the bigger Frankie's but they were too big for the small Frankie's. So I tried a few things including a Christmas Bulb punch which looked good but was too small. Finally I got the 3/4" Circle out I used to make the eyes and punched a circle out of Kiwi Kiss CS I trimmed it to leave the rounded bottom of the nose and then sponged the edges with Old Olive ink to give dimension again.
Frankie with a Nose
I then took the Word Window Punch and punched out a black punch then cut in half jaggedly cut the rounded end off snailed half of it and attached on both sides of the face for Frankie's face Bolts. Frankies full face with Drawn on mouth, and scars using the Basic Black Marker
Now you open him back up and punch a word window punch out of the top of the under side of the face. You then put the Kit Kat inside thru the word window punched out part. I snail about 1/2" of each end of the paper to the bottom see the pinched pieces on sides of Kit Kat below that is where I snail it.
Frankie with Kit Kat in and attached. You can put a glue dot behind the Kit Kat attached to the back of the paper in case you are worried it will fall out. Finally you have your Finished Friendly Frankie Kit Kat Holder. Lastly I took a piece of Egg Plant Gross Grain Ribbon and put it thru the frankie and tied it up above with two knots so Frankie can be carried like a bag.
.......
I hope you give him a try. I think the Kids in Willow's Pre School Class will really like them!
.......
If you have any questions I will be happy to help you make the Friendly Frankies!

A Digital Scrapbook Page

I made these digital Scrapbook page using Photoshop and Digital elements I have from other software things like Creative Keepsakes Fonts and images, clip art ect...
.......
When I was pregnant with Willow I had these Pregnancy Pictures taken with me and Piper in them. We were in Colorado visiting my family and friends so Marvin was back home in Kansas that is why he is not in them.
.......
.......
I hope you enjoy them! They were fun to make. I prefer working with Paper, but Digital is fun too because you can always take things in the picture and make it part of your Digital paper or frame which is so much fun!

Hello to my Regular Readers

Hi Everyone,
I have noticed from my feed jit info tracker I added last week, that I have people coming every day to my blog. I see one from Fort Brag, and several others off the top of my head I can not remember all the locations, but I just wanted to say I would love to meet you if you are a regular reader! Leave a comment some time so I can say hi! Well you do not have to if you just want to be anonymous and just read, and see the idea's I post. I just wanted to say I would love to be able to say hi if you want me to! ha ha ha
.......
I hope you enjoy the ideas and designs I share, I have been having a ton of fun doing it, and it has really gotten me stamping every day which I have not done in a long time because I did not think I had the time!
.......
Now I am learning like Lauren Meader (our famous blogger and stamper) says if I take time every day to stamp and create I am much more able to get other things done, and to enjoy my daily life more!
.......
It is true by taking some stamping and creating time every day I have been accomplishing much more, and just feel more refreshed and ready for the daily grind! Lauren knows what she is talking about I guess. It is funny because even a month ago I would have said there is no way I can do a card or two a day or a projects and scrapbook page a day, but I have been and it is doable I am finding out! LOL
.......
Have a Great Day and drop me a line some time!

Willow's Words

Here is Tucker playing with the girls before they went to bed one evening.
.......
Hi All,
.......
I did not have time to do any "fun" stamping today. I spent a long time making Teacher Treat Gifts for Piper and Willow to give their teachers for Halloween.
.......
You have seen all the things I made so there was no reason to post pictures of them again. I did up some of the booglie eye spiders, some of the Friendly Frankin Candy Favors, some pumpkins and apples for them.
.......
Well Willow has been going on and on about her words lately. Jami from Stamp Happy made the suggestion after my last Willow's words post that I should make it a regular post. After the first one I read it to Willow and she was really mad at me for about a day she said it embarassed her! Then lately she has been saying Mommy have you told people about my newest words on your computer? So here is the next instalment of "Willow's Words"
.......
Last week she came up with a few that were not really words. Benificity, and Stansinicity????
.......
Yesterday she told me her new words for this week were Jiminy (like Jiminy Cricket), and Genevieve she used that one as the Land of Genevieve.
.......
I would love to be in that little girls head sometimes she is just sooooo creative and smart!
.......
Today she sat down to write, she is writing a lot these days she will sit for hours and write words and such some not words, but lots of letter's, but she is not even 4 1/2 so I think she is doing pretty good with her writing.
.......
Willow is such a Happy soul, and she can put anyone in a good mood! Today played a lot in the morning then after pre-school we headed off to Hobby Lobby to pick up a couple cuttle bug embossing folders, as our Big Shot will be here in less than 2 days Yea!!! Yea!!!! Yea!!!!
.......
My Neighbor/good Friend/new down line and I are sharing a Big Shot as we live right next door to each other and can get it back and forth easily!
.......
Piper is out of school for Parent Teacher Conferences tomorrow and Friday so today was her Halloween Parade Day. I did not get to go, because there was just no way to make it work with the timing of the Parade, and getting Willow to Pre-School, so that was kind of sad! She had fun though. Here is a picture of Piper from last month. She lost both of her front teeth in just a couple of days last month I think this picture is after she lost her first one.
.......
So tomorrow are her conferences at noon, I always feel like a little girl playing dress up when I have to go talk to her teachers. I do not know why I am the mother of a 1st grader, but I do not really feel "Big" enough to be doing that? Does that make sense????
.......
O.K. that is all for now. I hope you are having a wonderful day!
Here is a picture of Mr. Tuck Man he is at that stage where he gets into all of my drawers and cubbards and pulls everything out. It is just so much fun!!!! :-)

Spring Things, Color Challenge, and Lauren Meader mytimess09 Sketch Challenge

.......
Today's Color Challenge was Tangerine, Pixie, Kisses! Yep you had to combine the 3 colors in one card. That made for one bright card. I do not have any colors that scare me, except I just can not like Brown or shades of it! I have tried and it is not in my DNA LOL!!!!
.......
When I heard the colors I thought Yea!!!! A chance to use my Garden Whimsy set I have not had the opportunity to use yet! I wanted that set for a long time before I gave in and finally ordered it! I had fun using it today. When you see it you will know why the Christian Flourishes Jesus Fish reminds me of our SU whimsy sets!
.......
I had to get the Mytime Sketch done, because that is my one Challenge I promise myself I will do without fail every week! Here is the sketch from Lauren Meader: You can click on her name to go see her sketch card, and the other Saturday Sketch girls on her team as well.

.......

My Card Recipe:

1. I stamped the Images using Pixie Pink, and Tangerine Tango inks, on Whisper White CS from SU

.......

2. I trimmed them down the the sized I needed using my Paper cutter.

.......

3. On the smaller butterfly's I matted the Orange images on Pixie Pink, and the pink images on Tangerine Tango CS. I took my white gel pen and drew dots around the entire matted image.

.......

4. On the large Butterfly I matted it on Tangerine Tango and Pixie Pink both. I took my Paper Piercing tool and pierced holes all around the matte then I drew the white lines with my Gel pen to create the Faux sewing look.

.......

5. I took my sentiment from the same set Garden Whimsy and I stamped in in Black Staz On ink right over the large butterfly. It fits with it's round design.

.......

6. I took the smaller butterfly's and attached them to rectangle pieces of Pixie Pink, and Tangerine Tango CS I scalloped the end with my Scallop Edge punch, then I rounded the corners with an UID corner rounder punch, it is a very elegant looking punch.

.......

7. I then took my white gel pen and drew the white circles and then traced around the entire rectangle on the orange and the pink colors to make them more defined on the card.

.......

8. I got my SU White Gross Grain Ribbon and made two small bows to add to the rectangle pieces. I attached them with glue dots, and then snailed everything else on after that.

.......

9. Techniques used on this card are Paper piercing, punching, Drawing, stamping and gluing, Faux sewing and Faux paper piercing.

.......

I hope you enjoy the card. Let me know what you think!

Featured Stamper Challenge from the Past! Anne Ryan Card!!

Featured Stamper: Anne Ryan, Challenge Card

.......

Hello Friends!
I have been trying to do the SCS challenges more frequently to keep my creative juices flowing, and there is this one wonderful lady on SCS who has just been so kind, caring, inspiring, and friendly to me on SCS.
.......
She found me a few weeks ago, and I have been enjoying getting to know her some, and feeling like I have my first Split Coast Stamper's friend! She is a wonderful seamstress I hear, and she makes these very unique eclectic, elegant, fashionable, card designs!
.......
We do not own any of the same stamps that I know of so I had to search her gallery hard to find a card I could do a version of. She has very unique stamps, but very different from what I have in my Stamping room. You would think with over 200 stamps sets it would not be a problem to find a set to use on a card inspired from her work!
.......
Well, I had to go thru her entire gallery and finally on the last card, her first upload every I found a card I could make work! I adore her cards, but finding one I had the supplies to make an inspiration challenge on was a challenge!!! :-)
.......
She is soooooo creative!
Here is a link to her gallery. The Card I did was her first upload, and it was wonderful in it's own, but you have to check out some of her more recent stuff too! She is Amazing!
.......
So here is the Card of Her's I chose to do:

.......

My Card Uses:
.......
Stamps: Pink Cat Studio sets Lily, and Lily and Billy Accessories Stamp Sets
Paper: SU CS in Mellow Moss, Sage Shadow, Very Vanilla, Handsome Hunter, and 2 UID patterned papers in green shades with antique floral prints.
Inks: SU Markers in Sage Shadow, Mellow Moss, Blush Blossom, Apricot Appeal, Pretty in Pink, Close to Co Co, Creamy Caramel, and Going Gray. I also used the Staz On Black pad
Accessories: I used these wonderful pebble/stickles in 3 silver type shades from Our Daily Bread Designs I just go to accessorize the rain drops, and the rain puddle. Tool Kit, Paper cutter.
I just layered it up like she did adhered the layers to the main card, and stamped and cut the stamped images for the card. Lily is colored right onto the Very Vanilla CS, but the jacket, umbrella, and rain boots are cut out and snailed on.
.......
I hope you enjoy it, it was fun to make especially since it was for a great stamper and a good Challenge!

A Velvety Soft Kick Stand Card - Featured Stamper Challenge Card

Well Hello once again!
.......
Today I went to Split Coast Stampers to check out their Sunday's Featured Stamper Challenge. On Sundays the Challenge Leader picks one of the thousands of stampers with Galleries on the site and you have to go pick one of their cards and use it for inspiration. You have to change at least 2 things they did on their card in your version of the card. Here is the card I picked to use as inspiration. But you have to read below to find out why I ended up picking this card in the first place! :-)

The Featured Stamper's Inspiration Piece

.......

How Many ways can you be Inspired on a Card?????
.......
Let me try to tell you how many things inspired me to do this card.
.......
1. I actually went to one of my favorite Blogs today before going to SCS for the challenge.
Jami Bova from Stamp Happy, just does the most wonderful work, and she had her featured stamper challenge on her blog today. It was a Kick Stand Card and I had never seen a Kick Stand Card before. So I loved hers and had to go find the one she was inspired from the featured stamper.

Jami's Card she made off of the same Inspiration Piece

.......
2. I was inspired to use 2 of my newest sets that had not seen ink yet. My SU Upsy Daisy set, and my first set from Our Daily Bread Designs Christian Flourishes. I just love the Jesus fish in it! It reminds me of our SU whimsical sets!

Now here is my Kick Stand Card I made first of of inspiration from Jami, who was inspired from Kathy to do her's.

.......
3. I was inspired to use orange because I have seen a ton of wonderful cards out there using Upsy Daisy and I love love love the ones with orange in them! So I then decided to use Perfect Plum and Green Galore as complimenting colors with the orange.

The Upsy Daisy Stamp I have seen used so many creative ways. Orange has been my favorite ink color, I have seen it stamped in.

The close up of the Kick Stand Part of the card.

.......
4. I just adore the cuttle bug dry embossing folders everyone is using on their cards. Embossing give so much texture and dimension to your cards. As Tasha and I are ordering our Big Shot tomorrow we have not had the ability yet to do the dry embossing (coming soon though!) So while searching thru my Patterned Paper I found this wonderful Velvety Swede Paper and it had all this great embossing on it to boot, plus it was one of my chosen colors Perfect Plum so Yea Yea Yea everything I could want or need out of a paper! You can see Jami's use of cuttle bug embossing on her kick stand layer of her card.

The wonderful Velvet/Swede Embossed Paper I found in my Patterned Papers

.......
5. I was also inspired by the great orange and purple Organza Ribbons I found while choosing the added embellishments for this card!

A view of the 3 great Ribbons I found to embellish this card with

.......
So is that enough ways to be inspired while designing a card?????
.......
Recipe:
Paper: SU Card Stock in Only Orange, Green Galore, and Whisper white. UID Soft Velvet Swede Purple embossed Paper.
Inks: SU Only Orange, Green Galore, Perfect Plum
Stamps: SU - Upsy Daisy, Our Daily Bread Designs - Christian Flourishes
Accessories: Sponge daubers, to sponge purple around the daisy's. Bone folder to score the card where the green is folded over. Ribbons in Organza Bright Orange, and Deep Purple. SU Gross Grain in Eggplant. Snail Adhesive.
.......
Here is a Head On view of the Kick Stand Card. The Kick Stand Layer is actually narrower than the rest of the card.
So details stamped daisy's in Orange, then sponged around them in Perfect Plum leaving edges on the paper to distress the edges in Green Galore ink.
.......
Card Dimensions are 5" x 11" scored at the 8" mark for the main part of the card, and 4" x 4" for the kick stand part of the card.
.......
Layered inside of card in the wonderful Velvet/Swede Paper.
.......
I think that covers it all! If you have any questions I would be happy to help you!
.......
Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Stamper's Club Projects #2 and #3 Fall Scrapbook Page, and Round Tab Pumpkins and Apples

O.K.
Here is the first of the other 2 Stampers Club Projects we did today.
.......
I designed this 8 x 8 Scrapbook Page for the girls to make. There are no pictures on it yet, as I design them they make them, and then take them home to add pictures to later.
.......
I used the new Fall Blessings set out of the Holiday Mini I love the Scare Crow stamp!
I used my Aqua Painters and water colored the two stamped images, and then I used the small and large tag punches to do the title. The stamp is the worded stamp out of the same stamp set.
.......
Fall Scrap Book Page Recipe:
Stampin Up CS in Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Really Rust, and Old Olive

Hope you enjoy the Fall Scrap Book Page, Let me know what you think!
For the Tutorial on the Pumpkin and Apples go back a couple of weeks to a post called Not Stampations, but Punchations, and 5 more hits to go! Or you can go back just a couple of posts to the Cute Christmas Ornaments using Round Tab Punch. They are made the same way!
This is the Round Tab Pumpkin Punchation!
I took Glorious Green CS and did the Faux Swede Technique on the Stems. This is the Open Apple Punchation we did today.
I drew the seeds with my Basic Black Marker.
Until Next Time,
Heather
